The 3 Days Of Darkness [Part 5]

Let’s continue back and start off about what will happen to the backslidden during the 3 days of darkness.

What has happened to Jonah, gives us an understanding of what the backslider will go through; those who have accepted CHRIST as their savior at some point in their life, but they have not been faithful to HIM, being caught up in the world right now, not paying attention, not watching, not praying and are not ready.

In Jonah 1, it said about how GOD has instructed Jonah of what to have him to do. Although Jonah has flee from the presence of The LORD and did not want to do what GOD said. He went onto the ship, ended up causing difficulties for those who are with him and at last he has been casted off the ship.

Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Jonah 1:17

This explained that GOD has prepared a 3 days event for the backslider, who are not faithful to The LORD. The event is going to refine them and bring them back to where they need to be in their relationship with The LORD.

In Jonah 2, Jonah had this struggle within his 3 days trial and how he remembers The LORD.

When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. Jonah 2:7

This trial has refined Jonah’s heart, to where he gets rid of his pride and humbled his heart by coming back to GOD.

And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. Jonah 2:10

In Jonah 2:10, it described how once Jonah humbled his heart and got rid of his pride by seeking The LORD again; to have that relationship with a pureness of heart of wanting to do The LORD’s will, therefore GOD has ended this 3 days trial by having the great fish spitting him back out on the dry land.

This has reflected that the backslider will go through a tremendous 3 days trial that GOD has prepared to specifically to refine their hearts. After that happens, Jonah was instructed to preach.

Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee. Jonah 3:2

The word “arise” is like an awakening. This 3 days event is going to awaken those that are not watching, praying and having the relationship with The LORD where they need to be, because “arise” actually means to awaken and get up. So HE was telling Jonah to be awaken and get up, and to do what HE asks him to do.

These information given is to prepare people for this soon coming 3 days of darkness. It would be a very terrible thing to behold for those who are not ready for The LORD, who would be caught up into this event. The reason for that will be later explained.

The important thing to grasp is this verse:

A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. Matthew 16:4

“A wicked and adulterous generation” could mean for that past generation. However, many of the scriptures have dual meanings and there are hidden meanings that GOD is revealing now. What seems obvious on the surface with the particular scripture, GOD may show a deeper meaning hidden within it. Yes, HE was talking to those of that generation, but also HE is using it to show us things that we need to know now.

So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days’ journey. Jonah 3:3

“Arose” here means that he was awakened and did what he was instructed to do. The awakening that has took place here; this is a last call to repentance. This 3 days of darkness event will lead unto a call to repentance and then there will be an APPROXIMATELY 40 days period where there will be the final call to repentance before the rapture of the bride.

In Jonah 3:3, it appears that there was another 3 days event after Jonah’s 3 days trial. Let’s take a deeper look at the 3 days event of Jonah and the whale, what took place afterwards and how it applies to the backslider.

There are things that GOD have in store for the backslider. Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, where there was a 3 days journey. After the bride have her incorruptible body and some of the backsliders and the lost had awakened who come to The LORD to do HIS will, there is another 3 days period that applies to the backslider. It is about a 3 days journey in the wickedness of the world.

Nineveh represents a wicked city and to here it represents the wickedness of the world or wilderness. Jonah had to go a 3 days journey through this wicked city, which applies here a wicked and evil world.

And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. Jonah 3:4

The verse above have again mentioned about a 40 days period. He has proclaimed GOD’s message to them where they had 40 days to repent and come to The LORD or Nineveh would be overthrown. Here it shows the last call for repentance to the world, before the wrath of GOD comes upon them. In the tribulation or the great tribulation period where it happens after the rapturing of the bride, there will be the wrath of GOD that pours forth.

So Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shadow, till he might see what would become of the city. Jonah 4:5

After he had proclaimed GOD’s message and done his 3 days journey through Nineveh, he went to the east side of the city. There is a significance of him being on the east side. There made him a booth and sat under it in the shadow, is representing the protection of GOD. The booth is a temporary dwelling, a shelter, and a place of temporary protection. He is under the shadow of GOD’s wings.

This booth goes back to the Jewish festivals and how it shows the order of things. The call to repentance is represented by “Yom Kippur” and on Yom Kippur, they actually read the book of Jonah because it is about the call of repentance.

On the Jewish calendar, where the “Feast of Booths” and the “Feast of Tabernacles” comes after Yom Kippur, which is a time of repentance. Here it shows the order of things through these feasts. It is not about when these feasts fall where we are going to see the time of it, but it is about the order.

Booths represent a temporary dwelling, and Jonah who had proclaimed GOD’s message of calling people into repentance, where they had a 40 days time period before the wrath of GOD, if they don’t heed HIS call of repentance. This MAY be showing that the backslidden who turned back to abide fully in CHRIST, will proclaim GOD’s call to repentance for a 3 days period and for the remainder of the 40 days, they will be in this temporary dwelling that is a place of protection, a place of shelter and a place of provision after they have proclaimed the call of repentance. Although, they still have work to do, as there has been a call of repentance and then there is a time to reap the harvest. As people heed the call, the backslidden have the need to be helped. When the backslidden come back to The LORD, then they MAY be going to proclaim the call of repentance for 3 days and afterwards they MAY be going to work for The LORD under HIS protection and provisions.

The next post is going to start off about the lost in regards of what they will face when these events come.

Part 6 shall be continued in another post.
