Below are what I’ve learnt and some parts are suggestions/ speculation in this series, however, please take what you’ve learnt to the Lord. This series is to set free of the bondage of women in the church and who they are truly in Christ. The false doctrine that was taught in some churches that males are higher than females would be explained in this series to clear up this misunderstanding.

1 Timothy 2:11-15 King James Version (KJV)

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

Deborah was a female judge upon Israel and a prophetess. In Micah 6:4 “For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.” the leaders of Israel were not only Moses and Aaron, but also a female prophetess Miriam. In Matthew 28, both Mary were the first visitors when Christ was resurrected. God do have personal relationships with women as well, which can be seen in the story of Martha and Mary in Luke 10, the woman of the precious ointment in Matthew 26, and the woman at the well in John 4.

In this context, “the woman” is singular, and it was specifically pointing to the goddess of fertility. Diana taught that Eve was first formed and sinless, which is a false doctrine. Therefore, this particular woman was to stay silent to stop misleading others.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

In Genesis 1:26 “Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea…” means that both Adam and Eve were equal in authority over the creatures. Again, “a woman” is singular that was specifically pointing to Diana. She was trying to lift Eve higher than Adam with her sinless concept about Eve. However, both Adam and Eve were sinners.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

This was in response to Diana’s false doctrine that Eve was first formed.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

This was in response to Diana’s false doctrine that Eve was sinless.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

If women are really saved through childbearing, then this is saying that the gospel is not true. We are saved by faith in Christ because of His sacrifice on the cross, according to the gospel and not by childbearing. In Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” says that we are all one in Christ regardless of gender.

The word “saved” was mistranslated, whereas it should be “safe”. In this context of childbearing, the goddess of fertility called Diana was threatening women shall die in childbearing, if they do not worship Diana. However, Paul affirms that women are safe in childbearing, if they continue their faith in Christ, live a holy life and in obedience to God through loving one another unto salvation, and not by worshipping this false goddess Diana. In Acts 19:28 had referenced this Diana “And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.”

Ephesians 5:21-25 King James Version (KJV)

21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

“Yourselves” is plural form, not only the female but also male.

22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Wives are to love their husbands wholeheartedly. These are the two great commandments not exclusively to women, but also men. Matthew 22:37 “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” and v39 “And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

The word “head” should be “source”, Eve was the source from Adam. The church is the source from Christ.

24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

The church is the bride of Christ and Christ is the second Adam who had corrected the mistakes of the first Adam. 1 Corinthians 15:45 “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.”

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

The “love” of the husband to his wife is “agapao/agape”, meaning a “selfless, sacrificial, unconditional love, the highest of the four types of love in the Bible.” Christians are to esteem one another higher than themselves, for whosoever exalts themselves shall be abased, and whosoever humbles themselves shall be exalted. The love of the husband is compared to the sacrifice of Christ who gave up His life for sinners! There is no greater love than giving one’s life for another based on John 15:13! So, not only the wives are to love their husbands wholeheartedly, but also the husbands are to do the same. There is no partiality in Christ, and it wouldn’t make sense to have men being higher than the women, because Adam was the first and greater transgressor than Eve according to Romans 5:12. Adam had transgressed before Eve who ate the fruit first. Both genders were created equal, because Eve was from the “rib” in Genesis 2:22 of Adam’s side, and neither any bones from his head nor his foot. If by foot, women would be lower, if by head, she would be higher.
